Tips far from the madding crowd --- The Stibbert Museum
When attending one of our courses, take a break and stroll at the: STIBBERT MUSEUM (www.museostibbert.it) --- A imposing villa with park, built by Frederick Stibbert (1838-1906), a rich English railway entrepreneur. A magic place, an example of the imaginative nineteenth-century eclectic style: neo-Gothic, neo-Renaissance, neo- romantic etc. A wonderful and rarely visited museum with a collection of more than 50,000 objects: armor, weaponry, porcelain, furniture, juwelry, paintings, sculptures etc. Worth a visit is the park, dotted with sculptures and fake ruins, with the most incredible building: a pond with a small Egyptian temple with sphinxes and frescoes! Entrance from via di Montughi.
