It is a very innovative exhibition of eight important contemporary artists: Vanessa Beecroft, Chiara Camoni, Andreas Gefeller, Alicja Kwade, Jean-Luc Mylayne, Isabel Rocamora, Anri Sala and Wilhelm Sasnal. The objective of the exhibition is to help the visitor to reflect on the concept of beauty, its role and its purpose. The modern world has separated art from beauty, as our culture is incapable of expressing the complexity and inconsistency of the modern society, connecting it to the concept of beauty.. At the same time, the word beauty is nowadays used only to express appreciation (like/don’t like) or as the mark of a hedonistic and superficial approach typical of today’s trend towards extreme aestheticisation. This exhibition tries to highlight the way people individually perceive beauty, its social power and meanings and the importance it plays in our lives.
