Oil painting had been used since the 12th century, but it was the
Flemings who perfected this technique in the 15th century. Since then it has
remained the preferred technique for making paintings as close to the real as
possible. In fact, this way of painting through glazes that usually go from the
darkest to the lightest colors permits to create truly amazing images that are
sometimes difficult to distinguish from a photograph.
This technique is particularly suitable for beginners as the oil paint
dries very slowly, allowing continuous touch-ups in case of second thoughts or
mistakes.
Courses can be started every week and classes are held in the afternoon. The
Intensive course is held Monday to Friday from 3pm to 7pm, while the schedule
for the Basic and Semi-intensive courses varies for every student and will be
communicated on the week before the starting of the course.
