Ancient techniques
The egg tempera was the technique used in the Middle Ages and Renaissance to paint on wooden boards. During the lesson students will learn the basics of painting with egg tempera by creating a small painting on a wooden board already prepared for this type of painting. They will then learn the gilding technique, typically Florentine and widespread in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, applying gold leaf on theirwork.
